Regional Technical Assistance (TA)
Beginning in September 2010 under the leadership of the former Executive Director of WCASA, Jeanie Kurka Reimer, the new Technical Assistance TA Model was implemented. WCASA now serves the state of Wisconsin with the help of 6 Regional Technical Assistance Specialists. Under the supervision of the Director of Program Development (and Interim Executive Director), Pennie Meyers, they provide technical assistance as needed and coordinate the Regional Meetings. More information about each of these TA Specialists is provided below.
In additon and as part of this new TA model, we are also contracting for two statewide TA positions:

Northwest Region – Ann McKinley
Ann is currently contracting with WCASA to work with the Northwest Region. Ann has twenty years' experience as a Sexual Assault Advocate and Program Coordinator plus seven years working with Wisconsin SASPs. Since "retiring" Ann has served as Interim Executive Director for three SASPs and is currently (as of December 2011) filling in part time as SA Advocate with Family Support Center in Chippewa Falls.
Specialty areas: Dual SA/DV and rural programs; working with Executive Directors and Boards of Directors; services for individuals and groups; testifying as an expert witness.
North Central Region – Jessica Lind (The Women's Community)
Jessica is currently the Sexual Assault Victim Services Program Coordinator. She has thirteen years of experience in the sexual assault field working at The Women’s Community in Wausau. Jessica chairs the Marathon County Sexual Assault Intervention Team, is part of the Protocol Development Committee for the Child Advocacy Center, served on the WCASA Board for six years and serves on the Community Notification Team.
Specialty areas: Vicarious trauma and self-care work, support group facilitation, background in working with child sexual assault prevention, providing sexual assault services in a dual agency.
Northeast Region – Pam Malin (Sexual Assault Services)
Pam Malin is currently the Disabilities Coordinator for the Sexual Assault Center of Family Services in Brown, Oconto, Door and Marinette Counties. She has over 30 years of experience working with people with disabilities and over 13 years working with victims of sexual abuse. She is a Board Member for the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities (WPBPDD) appointed by Governor Doyle in 2010. Pam actively advocates for victims of sexual assault with disabilities on a variety of committees, inculding: CCR, SART, I-Teams. Together the teams are striving to make sure that all sexual assault victims including those with disabilities, are afforded their rights, and treated with dignity and respect.
Specialty areas: Program development, advocacy, community coordination, working with people with developmental disabilities, knowledge of the systems which support people with developmental disabilities and collaborating within those systems.
Pam is also the Statewide Developmental Disabilities Specialist for WCASA.
Southeast Region – Vicki Biehn (Sexual Assault Services of LSS)
Vicki is currently the Rural Service Coordinator, Counselor and Prevention Educator at Sexual Assault Services of Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan (in Racine). Vicki has over twenty years of experience providing direct services, including advocacy at all levels as well as therapy to sexual assault survivors. Vicki co-chaired the Racine County SART and CCR team.
Specialty areas: Primary Prevention, support group recruitment and facilitation for survivors, therapy, experience working in dual agencies.
South Central Region – Sinem Bertling
Sinem is currently the Prevention Education specialist/Victim Advocate at the Sexual Assault Recovery Program in Beloit. She has over four years of experience providing direct services, including advocacy at all levels, volunteer recruitment and training and counseling to sexual assault survivors. Sinem is a member of the American School Counselor Association, Green County Abuse Prevention Task Force, the Wraparound Project of Green County, Homeless Prevention Coalition of Green County and Multicultural Council of Green County.
Specialty areas: Primary prevention in schools and the community, curriculum development, evaluations and being able to measure outcomes, working within very rural communities.
Southwest Region – Darlene Masters (Family Advocates - Sexual Assault Services)
Darlene is the Sexual Assault Services Coordinator at Family Advocates in Platteville. In working in the sexual assault field for over five years, Darlene has worked with victims and communities through peer counseling, group advocacy, education, prevention, and awareness. In addition to providing services, Darlene also has fundraising experience.
Specialty areas: group facilitation, experience in rural areas, multi-site coordination, campus and community college coordination.
