Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy School
March 3-7 2008 Madison, WI

This school addresses the basics of being a victim advocate - whether answering the crisis line, providing medical or legal advocacy, working with a coordinated community response team, or facilitating a support group. Participants will have opportunities to practice skills necessary to provide comprehensive advocacy for victims. New sexual assault victim advocates, domestic violence victim advocates, and other professionals who want to learn more information about sexual violence are encouraged to attend. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Basic Seminar
March 10-14, 2008 Madison, WI

This intensive, five-day seminar teaches nurses the key components and skills necessary to provide effective healthcare and services to the adult and adolescent victims of sexual assault. This course provides in-depth knowledge on the role of the SANE, including forensic evidence collection, documentation and testifying in court. Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE):Expanding the Role – Peds Plus Seminar
April 14-18, 200 Sheraton Hotel, Brookfield
Topics for this seminar include interviewing children, mandatory reporting, pediatric physical findings related to trauma, strangulation, and responding to domestic violence within sexual assault cases. These seminars are open to medical professionals who have completed the Basic SANE Seminar. CEU's are available for this seminar. Approval of approximately 22 contact hours is pending. SANE Seminars are sponsored in partnership with Meriter Hospital and the Sexual Assault Treatment Center of Aurora HealthCare.
