SUMMARY:Embrace SAAM Event: "What Were You Wearing" Survivor Art Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:In honor of SAAM\, Embrace\, in partnership with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire – Barron County (UWEC-BC)\, is proud to present the fifth annual “What Were You Wearing?” Survivor Art Exhibit. The self-guided exhibit features stories and depictions of what survivors were wearing when they were sexually assaulted. A powerful message that clothing does not equal consent. Community members are invited to visit the exhibit\, opening on March 30th\, and closing on April 30th\, at the UWEC-BC Fine Arts Gallery in Rice Lake. Make sure to stop by the resource booth at the exhibit to learn more about Embrace and how you can make a difference in your community.

WCASA is collecting information about SAAM events via this survey and we will post all events on the calendar on our website. \n  \n  \nFrom NSVRC: “The theme “25 Years Stronger: Looking Back\, Moving Forward” honors the history and growth of the movement while reaffirming our commitment to a safer future for all. Looking back\, we remember the survivors and advocates who laid the foundation for change. Moving forward\, we renew our focus on prevention\, healing\, and action.”

SUMMARY:Friends Inc SAAM Event: Steps Against Sexual Assault 5k Walk/Run
DESCRIPTION:Join FRIENDS\, Inc. for our 2nd Annual Steps Against Sexual Assault 5K Walk/Run\, a powerful community event held in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and all survivors of Sexual Violence. \nLast year\, the community showed up in force and helped raise over $12\,000 to support survivor advocacy\, prevention education\, and 24/7 crisis response services. It was more than a fundraiser\, it was a public statement that sexual violence will not be ignored in our community. This year\, we’re bringing that same energy back to Ridge Run Park with a brand-new route\, expanded activities\, and even more ways to stand in solidarity with survivors. \nThis event will take place rain or shine (or even in the bitter cold!). We are committed to standing together no matter what\, and we hope you’ll bundle up\, lace up\, and show up with us. \n
