On Friday\, May 21st\, we welcome WI Office of Crime Victim Services staff\, who will provide information on the CVC/SAFE\, Crime Victim Rights and Safe at Home programs. These live sessions will last 2.5 hours each day and will not be recorded. \n\n\n\nSAVAS addresses the basics of being a victim advocate — answering the crisis line\, providing individual and systems advocacy and providing outreach in your community. DESCRIPTION:Due to ongoing restrictions in response to COVID-19\, WCASA will be offering its Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy School (SAVAS) online. The training will last Monday through Thursday November 29 – December 2\, Monday through Thursday\, December 6-9\, and Monday through Thursday\, December 13-16. These live sessions will last 2.5 hours each day and will not be recorded. On Friday\, December 17\, WI Office of Crime Victim Services staff will provide information on the CVC/SAFE\, Crime Victim Rights and Safe at Home programs. Registration for the Friday OCVS session can be found here. \n\n\n \nSAVAS addresses the basics of being a victim advocate — answering the crisis line\, providing individual and systems advocacy and providing outreach in your community. We are adapting sessions and activities to fit the constraints of web-based learning\, while striving to provide a similar experience to in-person events. \n\n\n\n\n \nThis opportunity is being offered to staff of member Sexual Assault Service Providers (SASPs) for no fee. This 90-minute webinar will review key elements of the 2020 Title IX rule changes and subsequent litigation. We will also touch on how this has been playing out practically here in Wisconsin\, as well as the status of the rule changes under the current administration. While the legal landscape around Title IX is in flux as the Dept. of Education is expected to issue new rules in the coming months\, this webinar aims to provide tools participants can use to examine the current and future state of Title IX.
