DESCRIPTION:Due to ongoing restrictions in response to COVID-19\, WCASA will be offering its Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy School (SAVAS) online. The training will last Monday through Thursday October 31- November 3\, November 7-10\, and 14 – 17. These live sessions will last 2.5 hours each day from 1 pm to 3:30 pm and will not be recorded. On Friday\, November 18\, WI Office of Crime Victim Services staff will provide information on the CVC/SAFE\, Crime Victim Rights and Safe at Home programs. DESCRIPTION:Our fabulous Multicultural Outreach Specialist\, Marcela Kyngesburye\, will kick off our Empowered Rhythms series of classes with a mindful movement practice specifically for survivors. Explore well being through mindful movement! Dress comfortably and consider bringing items or props that may support you (blanket\, pillow\, mat\, cushion\, snacks\, water). The movements are adaptable and can be done standing or seated. The class will be located at Dance Life Studio for in-person class\, and it will also be live-streamed virtually on Facebook Live for folks to join in at home! DESCRIPTION:Throughout the month of April Embrace will host the second annual “What Were you Wearing?” Survivor Art Exhibit on display at the University Wisconsin Eau-Claire – Barron County. This self-guided exhibit includes short stories from survivors with recreations of the outfits they were wearing when sexually assaulted. This exhibit puts on display the simple yet powerful message that sexual assault is never the survivor’s fault\, no matter what they were wearing. \nEveryone is invited to experience the exhibit at the UWEC – BC Fine Arts Gallery April 5 – April 27\, 2023.
