Regional Advocacy & Outreach Training (CANCELLED)

DAY ONE: Exercise Your Sexual Assault Advocacy Skills
10:00am-5:00pm
We commonly hear from SA advocates who don’t have opportunities to practice and improve their advocacy skills. This scenario-based training will allow advocates to practice their direct advocacy skills in a supportive environment. WCASA staff & volunteers will lead small-group simulations for advocates to practice in a variety of settings, including a simulation with SANE.
DAY TWO: Build a Sexual Assault Outreach Plan
9:00am-12:30pm
With the increase in VOCA funding and SA staffing, programs are looking for support to connect with primary sexual assault victims. This hands-on training will help advocates identify how to connect with sexual assault survivors and develop an outreach plan for the agency. *We strongly recommend programs send two staff to support plan development and implementation.
