Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy School (SAVAS)

December 2, 2019 @ 8:00 am - December 5, 2019 @ 5:00 pm

This training addresses the needs of being a victim advocate – whether working the crisis line, providing medical or legal advocacy, working with a community coordinated response team or more. Participants will have the opportunity to practice skills necessary to prove comprehensive advocacy for victims. New sexual assault advocates, domestic violence victim advocates, and other professionals who want to learn more information about sexual violence are encouraged to attend.

The class consists of an in-person component, in addition to a series of sessions via webinar prior to and after the training. To get the full benefit of the school, WCASA encourages advocates to complete both components. Participants will be expected to show they have completed each session.

Time:
Monday, December 2: 8:30am-5:00pm
Tuesday, December 3: 8:00am-5:00pm
Wednesday, December 4: 8:00am-5:00pm
Thursday, December 5: 8:00am-3:00pm (Training provided by WI DOJ Office of Crime Victim Services). This day covers the Safe at Home program, the Crime Victim Compensation/SAFE Fund and Victim Rights.)
