The Bridge To Hope SAAM Event: Chalk The Walk

April 1 - April 7

April is both Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Awareness Month (SAAM) and Child Abuse Awareness Month (CAAM). Originating from grassroots movements in the 1970 and 80s, SAAM/CAAM began as a response to the need for increased awareness and action against sexual violence and child abuse in our communities. This movement created an opportunity to educate communities, support survivors, and advocate for prevention strategies. This year’s theme is “Creating Connected Communities”, which highlights the importance of community involvement in addressing sexual violence and child abuse. This year’s community event is Chalk the Walk. Chalk the Walk involves community member coming together to create chalk art installations with messages of support, empowerment, and awareness regarding sexual assault and child abuse prevention. Participants are invited to express their thoughts, experiences and hopes through art on designated sidewalks or public spaces in our community. If you would like to take part in this event – please go to The Bridge to Hope Facebook page for more details! https://www.facebook.com/thebridgetohope
