Leading groups online presents a special set of challenges—and opportunities. Join facilitators from Partners for Youth Empowerment to learn easy-to-implement facilitation strategies and activities that will optimize your impact in the online environment. You’ll learn ways to help young people feel safe enough to fully participate, to build a sense of community in your groups, and to support youth to engage in meaningful conversations. You’ll also learn some Zoom tricks that will make your time with online groups more satisfying and effective. Claudia Pineda Reyes, MSW, is a Mexican American Social Worker from Cicero, IL and Michoacan, Mexico. She is a trainer for Partners for Youth Empowerment and is currently employed by the Department of Health at King County, WA. Her expertise revolves around gender, trauma, racial equity, community engagement, immigrant communities, and anti-violence. Claudia’s approach is largely informed by her work with Partners for Youth Empowerment and the Center for Equity and Inclusion in Portland, Oregon and her training as a Restorative Justice Facilitator.

Peggy Taylor, M. Ed, Co-Founder and Creative Director of Partners for Youth Empowerment, is known for her innovations integrating creativity into youth development programs. She is a master trainer who has empowered thousands of educators, social service professionals, and youth workers across the globe with methods that foster creativity, purpose, and a love of learning. Peggy is lead author of Catch the Fire: An Art-Full Guide to Unleashing the Creative Power of Youth, Adults, and Communities.
